From the field: the problem that started it all
In 2014, Jerry McLarty of LSU Healthcare brought West Networks a problem that was costing women their lives: mobile mammography units that could scan patients in rural Louisiana but could not transmit the images in time for follow-up. It took six months, but West Networks built a bonded-cellular solution that let those units send diagnostic-quality images in real time from anywhere.
A decade later the same idea became the connectivity behind mobile stroke units — cutting image-transmission time to under two minutes, when a stroke patient has roughly eight to act. That breakthrough made West Networks one of the countrys leading connectivity providers for life-critical mobile medicine, today serving roughly 200 hospitals. The best problems to solve are the ones where the stakes are someones life.
Both studies below are labeled “Representative deployment” on-site: illustrative composites built from real deployment patterns in the field, with numbers a buyer can pressure-test. We say so plainly — the “101” brand teaches; it doesn’t invent customers.
